Day of Action

The annual Day of Action held September 14th created opportunities to turn care into action.  The weather was perfect and the project work an amazing gift for recipients.  FEED THE NEED drove non-perishable food collection to 4000 items for children attending local schools.  Winner of the FEED THE NEED Challenge for less than 50 employees went to Heartland Veterinary Hospital!!  They were followed closely by Community Trust Bank.  First place for companies with 51 to 150 employees went to Red Wing.First place for 151 employees and up went to Wausau Paper.  A huge thank you to everyone for participating in an incredible way to reduce hunger. This year, Heart of Kentucky United Way implemented  Community Conversations during Day of Action. Everyone's voice was critical to the process. We truly value your thoughts regarding the health and well-being of our communities in Central Kentucky. We are the first United Way in Kentucky to launch Community Conversations joining other United Ways across the country.
